DoxyKlor Offers Free Product to Assist Poultry Research & Pilot Testing:

Upgrade biosecurity strategies and develop more robust methods to combat emerging pathogens in this critical food supply industry.

March 1, 2022. Announcement of quarterly recurring opportunity. Submita simple RFI regarding projects interested in receiving donations of
DoxyKlor disinfectant product to support poultry research and pilot testing of this new tool against Avian Influenza, salmonella & more.

About the Offer

The objective of the donation(s) of PI Industries, Inc.is to support unbiased research in areas of poultry science best aligned with our product market such as:

  • improving outcome and speed of poultry and egg production facility sanitizing

  • egg room, brooder and hatchery disinfection

  • drinking water biosecurity

  • avian influenza mitigation

  • automation of potable (drinking) water treatment,

  • biofilm/biofouling removal and prevention in filtration systems,

  • reducing antibiotic load in live poultry,

  • mitigating the threat/impact of emerging avian viruses,

  • preventing/controlling foodborne and/or waterborne pathogens,

  • increasing biosecurity in poultry management and processing,

  • creating water safe for reuse,

  • wastewater/sludge treatment and odor control,

  • online cold reprocessing/dipping or carcass spraying cabinets,

  • pathogen control in chillers and on conveyors

By donating our product, we provide researchers a means to extend the project budget by eliminating expenditure on chemicals needed to institute, maintain proper project hygiene controls, and discover the wide range of spaces and places where DoxyKlor can upgrade and expand biosecurity effeciveness.

We are primarily interested in supporting field research, though laboratory projects will also be considered. Responses will be used to determine interest, and to select project(s) to supply with donation of product.

About the Product

DoxyKlor is an ultra-pure, ready-to-use chlorine dioxide aqueous solution for broad-spectrum pathogen control (virucide, bactericide, etc.) The product is EPA registered for use on food contact areas, in brine water, and potable water systems (as well other uses pertinent to poultry facilities (e.g,: against foodborne and waterborne pathogens endemic to egg rooms, hatcheries, watering systems, processing equipment and/or recirculating water systems supporting poultry farm production.)

  • Efficacy against SARS-CoV-19 (N-list) and against emerging pathogens such as Avian Influenza srrains  .

  • Registered with NSF for grade D-2 (no-rinse) application on food-contact surfaces.

  • 21 CFR parts 137, 173 and 178 specify the active ingredient as GRAS.

  • Active ingredient listed on USDA-FDA 2021 Safe and Suitable Ingredients List (FSIS).

DoxyKlor does not require onsite generation. DoxyKlor is formulated through a highly controlled process featuring reagent-grade ingredients and proprietary gas-capture technology that creates a stable solution of chlorine dioxide (shelf-life of up to one year and a dilution pot life of several weeks when stored and used according to manufacturer’s instructions). In addition to convenience, high stability and purity factors allow researchers to exclude variables otherwise introduced by issues of disinfectant product quality and consistency. DoxyKlor is readily diluted in water to achieve varying concentrations, and can be integrated inline into existing water systems.

Decades of research support DoxyKlor’s claim as significantly safer, more stable, less toxic, and more effective compared to bleach. Even at low dosage, DoxyKlor performs consistently better against microbials (including HAI-causing pathogens) immune than other oxidizing disinfectants. DoxyKlor is employed by major food and beverage processors to successfully remediate, remove biofilm from, and maintain filtration membranes and water systems previously (unsuccessfully) treated with peracetic acid and bleach products.

To Submit an Response:

Interested parties are encouraged to submit a brief 1-page response summarizing the scope of their research project for consideration. Please include the location/site(s) of the work performed, research objective and pertinent shipping and contact information. Next quarterly deadline is June 5th, 2022.
